Colombia

The reliable all-rounder. Sweet, balanced washed coffees with red fruit and caramel, plus a wave of experimental lots from a new generation of producers.

Colombia is the third largest producer and the one most roasters lean on for a house single origin. Castillo, Caturra and Colombia varieties, washed and sun-dried on farm, make coffees that behave well in any brewer. Huila and Nariño are the names to look for on filter; Tolima and Antioquia lots make dependable espresso. It is also the origin where you are most likely to find the roaster listing a producer by name.
